One more year fades away..........

2007 is gone and 2008 has already slipped into our lives. After all the greetings and celebrations one tend to realise that one more year has passed and what it actually offered us. Was it the same run of the mill story or it had the thrills and speed of a super hit crime thriller. Can we live with out this year ? There are certain year which just passes away and then there are the ones which leave long lasting impact.

I feel 2007 to me was overall a very consistant year. It saved me from having too many surprises and hence was overall on expected lines. Actually this was the year which after so many years gave that stability and continuity. Though it gave me life threatening moment at Shanghai when our cab banged into a truck at 120 kms/hr, but still it was a year whom I am quite thankful about.

The year offered me to focus more on my work and go all out in training and service industry. We launched first non IT based business model in April and repeated the same in August again. The company started with one office in 2003 and then was lucky enough to add another in 2005. To add two offices in one year and finishing this year with total of four is an achievement in every respect. This year also offered me immense satisfaction in doing what I was doing. It gave me some what my peace of mind back which was absconding from so many years. I would not say that the business is 100% stable and expanding but yes it is on course for that much needed take off. We have spent far too much time on the runway. We need to really take off asap else we will be forced away from the runway. The year also saw some really skilled people joing us and some absolutely worthless creatures being thrown out of the company. This year made us so ruthless and practical that we had no emotions left in business and its employees. But then it was Charles Darwin's idea "Survival of the fittest". I strongly feel that next year would be even worst. But I know that this time we are waiting for this and are better prepared.

Personally the life went uneventful. Kids are growing rapidly and are challenging our parenthood much more then anticipated. Its amazing to see these young monsters becoming so intelligent and smart. It also help in comparing their days with our days. Trust me there in not much in common. Further their approach towards life is vastly (ghastly!!) opposite to ours. I thought generation gap starts when the kids are teenagers, sorry to disappoint but its existing in our house already. Maybe we are old .

A new passion got ignited this year in travelling. Travelled a lot this year. Mount Abu in May, Shanghai in October, Goa again in October and just visited Jaisalmer in December. Also accomplished a long time dream of watching Formula 1 GP live at Shanghai. Saw Ferrari revive their chances of winning the championship and accomplishing it in the next race. Missed Schumi so much....will forever regret not getting the chance to watch the race when king was driving.

So the year is gone and what is left are the memories and moments it offered. By documenting these in this blog this year is archived forever.
